Integrative counselling can help with a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, family issues, bereavement and low self – worth.
We offer an integrative counsellor who has developed our own way of working using a variety of approaches. These approaches can be personalised to fit in with the difficulties that clients are facing.
Our approach is person-centred in that believes the client is the expert on themselves, rather than the counsellor giving advice and telling them what to do.
This is also a non-judgmental approach in which the relationship between the therapist and client is of utmost importance. For many clients it can take a lot for them to feel safe enough to work through the things that are troubling them the most. This is why we place the development of a collaborative and trusting relationship at the heart of our approach because this is the most important enabler of lasting change.
We also draw on Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help clients to manage issues such as having outbursts of extreme anger, meltdowns or panic attacks and the feelings of shame or self-criticism that often come afterwards. MBCT helps clients to become more aware of these automatic thoughts, feelings and behaviours rather than becoming swept away with them.
The combination of mindfulness and cognitive therapy is what makes MBCT so effective, particularly for clients who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Mindfulness helps clients to observe and identify thoughts and feelings while cognitive therapy helps clients to interrupt automatic thought processes and work through feelings in a healthy way.
We are also influenced by attachment theory and how our sense of self is shaped by our early experiences with caregivers. These turn into our ‘maps of the world’ and influence how we perceive ourselves and how we think we are perceived by others, often unconsciously. Therapy helps through an exploration of us trying to understand the client’s ‘map of the world’ and to help the client gain new perspectives – both about themselves and their relationships with others. It is these new perspectives which can help clients with their emotional wellbeing and mental health and enable them to live life to their full potential.
We also have experienced and professionally qualified coaches and have helped clients with issues such as developing confidence, being more assertive, time management, public speaking and managing difficult working relationships – for example setting goals for therapy or making difficult life choices.

We offer a Positive Psychology Coach working with anybody, and everybody, regardless of age to support them to make changes in their life and work towards personal, interpersonal and professional goals.
Coaching provides a confidential space, to express your thoughts and feelings and above all to be heard. A person’s sense of self is constructed and maintained through their relationship to others and to their environment. This is an opportunity to develop your awareness about what matters most to you, what adds to your life and what does not.
We live in a world inherently uncertain so developing strengths of openness, perspective, flexibility and resilience can help a person navigate the waves of change with agency and equanimity.
If you are ready to challenge yourself to work on your personal development, coaching is a chance to explore, question and discover your next steps towards gaining an increased quality of life and a heightened sense of well-being in the world.
